RE-ENROLLMENT/RE-ADMISSION

Any student applying for re-enrollment into any University program must meet with a representative of the Office of Admissions. The student may be required to meet new or additional programmatic or institutional requirements prior to acceptance. Additionally, students re-enrolling in a program are encouraged to meet with the Office of Financial Aid to discuss funding eligibility and ensure continued access to financial support.

Students should refer to their program-specific Student Handbook for detailed requirements that may impact their eligibility for re-entry. Students who have been dismissed from a program due to failure to meet academic, clinical, or professional standards may request to be considered for re-entry by submitting the appropriate digital form through the University’s portal. All requests for re-entry will be subject to review and consideration. Students have the right to appeal a re-entry denial in accordance with University appeal procedures.

Re-entry following dismissal is not guaranteed and may be granted at the University’s discretion upon demonstration of extenuating circumstances. The corresponding Dean will evaluate the specific factors that contributed to the student’s previous lack of success and assess what changes have occurred that may support improved performance and readiness to return. Each re-entry appeal is reviewed on an individual basis, and the student is responsible for demonstrating steps taken to establish a foundation for academic and clinical success.
Students attempting to re-enter a pre-licensure nursing program may be required to complete additional coursework, pass competency assessments, or successfully complete a remediation course (REM1000) designed to support their readiness to resume the program. If re-entry is approved by the Dean, the student must complete the formal re-enrollment process with the Offices of Admissions and Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, and the Bursar before returning to the program.

Students may appeal a re-entry denial to the Office of the Provost.
